How to Host a Palworld Dedicated Server (PC & Co-op)
Palworld is far more fun with friends, and a dedicated server means one shared world that's always online — no waiting for the host to log in. Here's how to get one running.
Why dedicated over co-op invites?
Hosting from your own game session works for a quick session, but it dies the moment you log off, and your PC carries the whole load. A dedicated server:
- Stays online 24/7 so anyone can hop in anytime.
- Keeps one persistent world with everyone's Pals and bases.
- Doesn't tank your own game's performance.
What you need
- A dedicated server with at least 8 GB RAM — Palworld is memory-hungry, especially as bases grow.
- The PalWorldSettings.ini file, where all the good stuff lives.
Settings worth changing
Palworld's defaults are fine, but these are the ones groups usually tweak:
- Day/Night length — stretch the day if you like more building time.
- Capture and hatch rates — bump these up for a more relaxed, collect-everything run.
- Death penalty — drop it to "item only" so a bad fight doesn't wipe your gear.
- Player and base Pal limits — raise these for a busy shared world.
Keeping it healthy
Palworld servers grow a big save file over time, so automatic backups matter — one corrupted save shouldn't cost you weeks of progress. A good host runs daily backups you can roll back with a click.
